Bag Lady Mama About...
So what am I about? I am about raising awareness, removing stigma and speaking up for those who suffer in silence! I am about normalising us Bag Lady Mamas and Bag Man Daddy's! I want to show that life doesn't end with a bag, but only begins! My journey started when I was only 15 years old and I first got sick. It probably started a lot earlier, but we'll go with 15 for now. I was a teenage run away and lost 10kg in the first few weeks. I'm sure the diet of 2 minute noodles didn't help the situation…. Fast forward a year or so and I still wasn't diagnosed until I forced my doctors to do a scope. Once they did they found my anus all through my large and a portion of my small bowel all ulcerated with Crohn's Disease. I was finally diagnosed! The doctors tried everything to get my disease under control (for 8 Years) but nothing worked and they now decided the time had finally come to have surgery. I would become The Bag Lady and the Mama part 5 years later. Having my surgery was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am definitely not saying it's been smooth sailing the whole time, but there has been a lot more good than bad. I've had bowel perforations, phantom butt pains and leaks where I've pretty much been covered in shit from head to toe! Oh the joys! All of these experiences have taught me to be who I am today. Thank you all for joining me on my ride! I swear, I laugh, I cry and I feel. I will make you apart of my family and you will see me at my most raw. I will not hide who I am - if I do I will not be true to you or me and wont be as real. Now lets Rock Out with our Bags out!! #Bagbitchesrock !!!!! K xxx
